Christian Theme – First Impressions (July)

Posted by on 13 July 2012

Last term we focused on the importance of prayer, and our children learnt that the meaning of prayer is to have conversation with our Heavenly Father. They learnt to never give up praying, that prayer changes things and that prayer makes all things possible. Our God hears and answers us and is watching over us every minute and every day. This term our Christian Theme shifts to First Impression. First impressions matter and they last. The Bible says that people look at the outside appearance, God looks at the heart. This is why it is so important to teach our children at their young age not to judge others as the world judges – not to judge by society’s ideas of beauty. Little Kiwis focuses on helping children to develop their inner beauty so that it can be reflected in everything they do and in who they are. As the Bible says, it is what’s on the inside that matters most to our God.

July Memory Verse: “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
